I have to admit. It is merely in effort of not being placed on Trick or Treat goer
probation for being “that Lady” whose house shall be avoided until further notice for handing out raisins and health bars (and shall only be deemed renounced
when the "goer" acceptable candy bars are coughed up), do I hand out handfuls of the
commercially processed filled with who knows what! (Even so, I do try to get away with sugar free, gummies and licorice as much as possible!)
If you’re also one prone to skipping on the processed sugar-laden mass-marketed candies of Halloween, or will not be serving up traditional soul cakes for Samhain this year, here is a healthy dessert alternative that provides a little sweet, a little harvest, and a hint of magic!
It involves mild fuss (I only laughingly say because it calls for peeling apples and I personally feel that the peeling of just about anything can at minimum be considered a fuss!)
Apples are just one of the ingredients in this dish considered not only magical but of health benefit as well. Apples have been given consideration and use since ancient times, appearing in areas of belief and spell related to immortality, life and love. Health benefit applications show use of apples to possibly aid in areas of improving brain health, teeth, lungs, heart, bone and the overall immune system.

A few other healthy magical ingredients included in this recipe are;

Cinnamon – is believed to have magical properties and used in areas of divining cleansing, and love. Healthwise it is known as an antioxidant inflammatory
spice to possibly help with skin, respiratory, metabolism, detoxing,
blood pressure and even mentioned for diabetes.
Coconut sugar- actually contains traces of healthy fiber and fats that are good for the gut
and magically it works like the old fly and honey adage. It is believed to be an attractant and so enhances the pull of that which is being sought.
Oats also have their place as known soothers for both spiritual and healing.
All combined, this is a warm holiday spirited comfort food not to overlook!
