Pumpkins abound as we enter the, all too well-known, love it or hate it pumpkin spice season!
And I must shamelessly admit I’m one of the spice goers and a huge fan of pumpkin that gets right into the spirit and cherishes a good pumpkin chai!
You can find everything pumpkin right now from lattes, chais, caps and fraps, to baked pies, cookies and breads, candy and confections, smoothies, soups, and even pumpkin chili (a personal fav of mine!).
From recipes to home remedies, including the make for a fabulous facial, pumpkin is undoubtedly versatile and more than just a provision for Cinderella’s carriage or this year’s Jack o’ lantern!
Pumpkins are a squash fruit member of the Cucurbita family that are round shaped and orange in color dating back centuries and known to have many benefits.
They are also a win-win with all parts being useful and edible with only their stem being non-edible. This means from blossom to flesh to seed you are sure to find pumpkin a valuable addition to any table or remedy.
Some goodies pumpkins are known to have:
Beta Carotene, vitamins A, B, C, and E. Potassium, Zinc, Magnesium, Copper and Fiber
And don’t forget the seeds! Pumpkin seeds are known to be a great source of iron!©
