(Make sure to also check out my Spicy Pina-Thyme Tea recipe below!)
It’s that Thyme of year!
Libra season!
Librans are all about balance. But honestly, I feel we all benefit from a smidge of balance now and again.
One amazing herb I believe helps achieve this balance is Thyme.
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a member of the mint family and dates back to ancient Egyptian period, and remains common and widely used for culinary and medicinal reasons today.
I can simply grab up a fresh or dried batch of Thyme at my local grocery store while doing everyday shopping for use in my culinary recipes and home remedies.
One of my fave recipes and home remedies using Thyme is making it into a wonderful aromatic tea. It’s super easy to make and a perfect balance for this time of year, to help soothe sore throats, coughs and snifflies, even assist in a good night’s rest if drank in the eve.

Elise's Spicy Pina-Thyme Tea
Add ¾ tsp of Thyme to 1½ cups boiling water and let steep for 10-12 minutes.
Add ¼ cup pineapple juice, a sprinkle of cayenne and a sprig of fresh rosemary. Serve warm.
(Optional) I like to vary this recipe by mixing things up a bit. Some of my favorite mix and match add-ins are a tsp of wildflower honey or agave or ¼ tsp of ginger). Enjoy!
